DALLAS – Throughout the month of August, Planned Parenthood of North Texas is offering all new male patients discounted exams at most of their 28 health centers. PPNT hopes offering $10 off an exam will encourage awareness among males especially those who are returning to college in the fall.

A male exam includes blood pressure screening and testing for sexually transmitted infections (STI) including HIV. In 2004, PPNT saw a 25% increase in male patients from the previous year. For more than ten years, PPNT has been fulfilling the reproductive health needs of men including providing vasectomies.

Any new male patient can receive $10 off an exam throughout August. For more information about clinic locations, patients should call 1-800-230-PLAN.

For more than 70 years, Planned Parenthood has provided compassionate health care in North Texas. In 2005, PPNT served more than 87,000 patients in its 28 clinics. PPNT also provides health education outreach to 10,000 individuals a year.
