World AIDS Day Highlights Importance of Prevention
11/20/07 DALLAS — As the global community marks World AIDS Day on December 1, 2007, Planned Parenthood of North Texas (PPNT) called on Congress to halt funding for harmful abstinence-only programs that deny teenagers lifesaving information about preventing infections like HIV/AIDS.
Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month: PPNT Offers Discounted Exams All Month
09/01/07 DALLAS - September is Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month and according to the American Cancer Society (ACS), ovarian cancer ranks fifth as a cause of cancer deaths among women because early detection of the disease is difficult. Early detection begins with an annual pelvic exam; therefore Planned Parenthood of North Texas (PPNT) is offering $10 off an annual exam for all new patients.
August: Discounted Exams for Men
08/01/07 DALLAS - Throughout the month of August, Planned Parenthood of North Texas (PPNT) is offering all new male patients discounted exams at most of their 28 health centers. PPNT hopes offering $10 off an exam will encourage awareness among males especially those who are returning to college in the fall.
Local Agencies Join to Educate Local At-Risk Youth
07/24/07 DALLAS - For the 19th year, more than 200 at-risk youth will participate in a variety of social workshops designed to inspire teens to make good decisions during the difficult transition from adolescence to adulthood at PPNT's annual "Teen Savvy" conference Thursday, July 26 at T.W. Browne Middle School in Dallas at 3333 Sprague Drive from 10am to 3pm.

North Texans may receive a no-cost* or $10 off a low-cost HIV test at any of Planned Parenthood of North Texas’ (PPNT) 28 clinics.

This year’s theme, "Stop AIDS: Keep the Promise," is an appeal to governments, policy makers and regional health authorities to ensure that they fight against HIV and AIDS.
