BURNAM AMENDMENT CREATING "PRO-FAMILY, PRO-CHOICE" LICENSE PLATES

An amendment creating "Choose Life" license plates was added to HB 3097 during consideration on the House floor, along with an amendment creating "Choose Adoption" license plates.  The revenue funds will be made available to unregulated, unlicensed, anti-choice crisis pregnancy centers (CPCs).  An amendment by Rep. Lon Burnam (D-Fort Worth) would have created "Pro-Family, Pro-Choice" license plates and make revenue funds available to organizations that provide family planning health care was also introduced during the debate, and was defeated.

5/5/2009 - House floor vote to table "Pro-Family, Pro-Choice" license plate amendment to HB 3097 (Passed 86-48).  PPNT supported the amendment, and opposed efforts to table it.
