WHY ADVOCATE?
Most elected officials don't trust women to make their own responsible choices. The majority of both the U.S. House and Senate are anti-choice, as is the President. Here in Texas, the majority of both the State House and Senate are anti-choice, as is the Governor. Anti-choice politicians are working hard every legislative session to take away our ability to make health care decisions based on our personal life circumstances and medical needs.
Policies under consideration could affect every aspect of reproductive health care services from family planning funding to Planned Parenthood's ability to give patients all the information they need to make their own medical decisions.
Planned Parenthood believes that the ability to make private reproductive health care decisions free of government interference is a basic human right.
The Public Affairs Department of PPNT advocates for access to comprehensive, confidential reproductive health care services and medically accurate information about sexual health. But, we can't do it alone.
We need your help. As constituents, elected officials listen to your opinions!
